Thank you for all this helpful information about choosing lumber! One thing that really stood out to me is that you say to look at the knots in the wood, and make sure that it’s not going to look bad. It would be nice to know that the look of the wood won’t affect the project in the end.

My brother wants to build his wife an entertainment center. He’s going to the lumber supply store later today, so he’s looking for tips in choosing the best wood. I didn’t realize how important it is to choose wood that has very little knots in it to ensure it has the best finish possible. I’ll be sure to share this info with my brother.
